HARRISBURG, Pa. — The 2013 Pennsylvania Dairy Summit retail showcase will pack the Domino’s effect, with Brandon Solano, vice president of development for the company, spotlighting the company’s reinvention, which centered essentially on adding more cheese.

Solano will join Scott Stewart from Stewart and Peterson and David Erpelding from Elanco Animal Health for a look at dairy’s global and domestic customers during the opening session of the summit.

Set for Feb. 6-7 at the Lancaster Host Resort in Lancaster, Pa., the Dairy Summit will offer a mix of industry discussions and hands-on dairy farm management insight.

New this year, the second day’s program will include a planning track with four breakout sessions that will complement the first day’s dairy track breakout sessions.

The summit is hosted annually by the Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania and the Center for Dairy Excellence, with support from the Penn State Extension Dairy Team and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.

Other highlights of the 2013 summit include a producer showcase of Rosy-Lane Holsteins, owned and operated by Lloyd and Daphne Holterman in Watertown, Wis., and an evening with former Pittsburgh Steeler Rocky Bleier.
