COLUMBUS, Ohio — The American Guernsey Association has announced that Lewis Jones has been hired as chief business administrator.
Jones will be responsible for the financial management and staff oversight of the AGA and Purebred Publishing, a division of the AGA. Jones will assume these duties beginning mid-April and will work from the AGA headquarters office located in Columbus, Ohio.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, Jones currently oversees the Spring Dairy Expo as show manager. For 15 years he was with the State of Ohio Department of Agriculture where his responsibilities included directing the Ohio Department of Agriculture Dairy Division sanitation program, including the assurance of safe and wholesome milk and dairy products for the consumer. His most recent title was department deputy director. Prior to that, he spent several years as an auditor of milk and products receipts and distributions with the Federal Milk Market Administrator, Federal Order 33 in Columbus, Ohio. His list of experiences also includes investment adviser and he was an operations manager at The Pillsbury Company’s Grain Division.
Jones is a lifetime member of the National Dairy Shrine, a member of the Ohio Agricultural Council, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, The Ohio State University Alumni Association, alumnus of Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity, and has served as a past president and vice president of the National Association of Dairy Regulatory Officials. He is also the recipient of the 2011 Ohio State University Dairy Science Hall of Service Award.
Jones and his wife, Carol, reside in Grove City, Ohio.
