Pocomoke, Md. — Hoober Inc., a farm equipment dealer with locations in Pennsylvania and Delaware, recently opened a new deadership in Pocomoke, Md.
In September, Hoober acquired the assets of Leatherbury Equipment in Cheriton, Va., and in conjunction with that announced plans to move the dealership to a new facility in Pocomoke, Md.
“We’ve been eager to open the doors at Pocomoke and so far the response has been wonderful,” said Chuck Hoober, president of Hoober Inc. “Along with our locations in Middletown, Del., and Seaford, Del., the Pocomoke location enables us to deliver outstanding equipment, parts, service and precision ag support to farmers throughout the Delmarva Peninsula.”
Mike Null, Hoober’s operations assistant who leads its operations across the Delmarva Peninsula, said he believes the people at the Pocomoke location are one of the store’s biggest strengths.
“The team we have in place in Pocomoke has worked with farmers in the region for many years and is known throughout the agricultural community,” Null said. “We focus on delivering outstanding customer service, and the Pocomoke team reflects that commitment.”
Charlene Jenrette, the office manager at Pocomoke, is joining Hoober after working for Leatherbury Equipment for 24 years. Another former Leatherbury employee, David Head, has joined Hoober as a service technician at Pocomoke.
In addition, Bill Adkins is making the move from Hoober’s Seaford, Del., location to be the parts manager for Pocomoke. Also making the move from Seaford, are service technicians Walt Pusey and Charlie Timmons. Adkins, Pusey and Timmons have 77 years of combined dealership experience.
“We have already built relationships with several customers in the region and we’re excited about the opportunities that are there for our new Pocomoke location,” Hoober said. “We truly believe we can make a difference for farmers in the area, and we’re encouraged by the response that we’ve gotten so far from customers.”
