YORK, Pa. — The Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education is seeking farmers to participate in the Incubator Farms Project at its farm in Hellam Township, York County.

The project offers a way for independent farmers to operate small-scale sustainable farms on prime acreage at the Horn Farm and develop a local market for their products with the center’s infrastructure, marketing resources and other support.

Parcels of up to two acres of the 187-acre farm are available for the incubator farms. Individual farm sizes will be determined as farmers are accepted into the program.

Although a portion of the land is currently conventionally farmed, all land for the incubator project eventually will be transitioned to organic farming methods.

Incubator farm acres have access to water and buildings, including a pole barn and a newly constructed greenhouse.

Application deadline is Oct. 31. For more information and application materials, contact the Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education, 4945 Horn Road, York, PA 17406, 717-757-6441 or info<\@>hornfarmcenter.org.
