Jackson, Hopkins Elected to AgFirst Bank Board

COLUMBIA, S.C. — William K. Jackson of New Salem, Pa., and Walter C. Hopkins Sr. of Lewes, Del., have been elected to the AgFirst Farm Credit Bank board of directors for a four-year term, expiring Dec. 31, 2016.

Jackson co-owns and operates Jackson Farms, a 900-acre dairy farm milking 160 registered Holsteins, with a bottling plant and convenience store. The operation also grows corn and alfalfa.

Jackson is a graduate of Penn State University and also serves on the board for AgChoice Farm Credit in Mechanicsburg, Pa. He is a member of Fayette County Holstein Association and Fayette County Farm Bureau.

Hopkins owns and operates Green Acres Farm, a family dairy farm in Lewes, Del., which consists of 570 milk cows, 500 replacement heifers and 1,000 acres of corn, alfalfa, grass and small grain.

Hopkins is a graduate of the University of Delaware and serves on the board of MidAtlantic Farm Credit in Westminster, Md. He is a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau, Land O’Lakes Cooperative, Genex Cooperative and the Delaware Holstein Association.

Other members of the AgFirst board in Lancaster Farming’s coverage area are Dale R. Hershey of Manheim, Pa.; Paul M. House of Nokesville, Va.; M. Wayne Lambertson of Pocomoke City, Md.; and Robert H. Spiers Jr. of Stony Creek, Va.
