LANCASTER, Pa. — Lancaster Farmland Trust is applying for renewal of its accreditation and is inviting public comment as part of that process.
The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.
Lancaster Farmland Trust received national accreditation in 2009 and is applying for renewal.
“Our organization is based on public trust and accountability,” said Karen Martynick, executive director of the trust. “Accreditation lets our farmers and supporters know that we take seriously the trust they place in our organization to carry out our mission of saving our home, harvest and heritage in Lancaster County.”
The commission accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Lancaster Farmland Trust complies with national quality standards for the ethical and technical operation of a land trust.
