Manure Meetings Set for York County

1/26/2013 7:00 AM

The York County Conservation District, in cooperation with Penn State Extension, will hold a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26, to discuss manure management, conservation plans and what landowners must know to be in compliance with state laws.

That meeting will be followed on Tuesday, March 12, with a manure management plan development workshop so participants can develop their own manure management plans with the assistance of the workshop staff.

A manure plan must be developed by any owner of livestock, poultry or horses, or anyone who spreads manure on their crop fields.

Both events are free and will start at 7 p.m. at the York County Annex Building, Room 1, 118 Pleasant Acres Road, York.

Registration is required for the March workshop. To register, call Penn State Extension at 840-7408.
