RHEEMS, Pa. — Wenger Feeds’ Muncy Mill and Hegins Valley Farm both received Awards of Merit for outstanding safety programs from the Joint Poultry Industry Safety and Health Council.

The awards were given by the National Chicken Council, National Turkey Federation, and U.S. Poultry and Egg Association to members with facilities that have injury and illness rates below the industry average for three consecutive years, through the implementation of innovative and effective programs.

The Muncy Mill in Lycoming County logged the lowest incidents of all company-owned facilities with just two recordable incidents in three years.

Company-run Hegins Valley Farm in Dauphin County had zero recordable incidents in three years.

“A quality safety program is one of the keys to Wenger Feeds’ success,” said Jim Adams, CEO. “It protects employees and ensures the safe and efficient conduct of all operations.”
