Project Grass Field Day Set for Aug. 10

A rotational grazing and conservation best management practice field day, and tour will be held at the Richard and Debbie Muir farm near Atlantic, Pa., 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.

The event is sponsored by the Crawford County Conservation District, Northwest Chapter of Pennsylvania Project Grass, Pennsylvania Grazing/Forage Lands Conservation Coalition, Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council. and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.

Those attending will see Angus cattle, riparian area best management practices, and an intensively managed rotational grazing system. The program will also include demonstrations on pasture soil health and portable fencing as well as a special presentation on the former Keystone Ordinance Works nearby.

A pig roast will be provided for lunch for $5. For reservations or more information, contact the Crawford County Conservation District at 814-763-5269.
