Retail Farm Markets Tour Set for July 22-23

The Pennsylvania Retail Farm Market Association, Penn State Extension, Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and USDA’s Risk Management Agency are sponsoring a bus tour of seven premier retail farm markets and one food manufacturer on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 22-23.

These farms and markets are major providers of fruits, berries, vegetables, prepared foods, and agritourism in Maryland.

Stops will include Catoctin Mountain Orchard in Thurmont, Baugher Farm in Westminster, McCutcheon’s Apple Products Inc. in Frederick, Butler’s Orchard in Germantown, Larriland Farm in Woodbine, Richardson Farms of White Marsh, Weber Cider Mill Farm in Baltimore and Milburn Orchards in Elkton.

Lunch on on both days and supper on Tuesday will be at markets on the tour.

Cost, which includes transportation, one night at a hotel reference materials, refreshments, dinner on Tuesday and lunch both days is $320 for a room for one person, $255 each for a room for two people, $235 each for a room for three people and $225 each for a room for four people.

The bus will pick up participants Tuesday morning in Allentown, Lancaster and Gettysburg, Pa., and return them the next day to the same locations.
