Wool Pool Set for Berks, Chester Counties

The Pennsylvania Sheep and Wool Growers Association will hold a wool pool 3-7 p.m. Friday, June 28, at the Romano 4-H Center of Chester County along Route 322 in Honey Brook; and 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 29, at the Reading Fairgrounds off Route 183 in Berks County.

Prices will be determined by the wool buyer, Groenewold Fur and Wool Co., of Forreston, Ill., based on wool grade. Hair-type wool will be heavily discounted.

Wool will be accepted only in burlap bags, which will be available to purchase on-site. There will also be a handling fee of 6 cents a pound, and a $5 membership fee will be collected the day of the pool.
