BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The LSU AgCenter is surveying cotton farmers as part of a research project on crop production.

The survey is funded by the Louisiana Cotton Inc. state support committee, according to LSU AgCenter economist Mike Salassi.

The committee directs how proceeds from the state's cotton check-off program are used to fund research.

Research topics include variety development, weed and insect management and control, crop fertility and production practices.

The survey is being conducted on the Internet and will continue into fall.

Farmers can get more information on participating in the survey by contacting their LSU county agent or by contacting Salassi at msalassi(at)
