Feeder Cattle Auction Report Mid-Session and Close for 04/16/2014
Receipts: 1998 Last Week: 1727 Year Ago: 860
Compared to last week, lightweight steer and heifer calves weighing under 550
lbs and the true yearlings on offer sold mostly steady. The heavier-weight
calves from 550-700 lbs were fully 5.00-10.00 lower with instances as much as
15.00 lower on the top steer prices in that weight group. The most aggressive
orders for 6 weight grass cattle have now been filled. There were more yearling
feeders this week and trading was more active with one full load on hand and
several large packages. Supply included 49 percent steers, 42 percent heifers,
and 9 percent feeder bulls. Around 30 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
