Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for Monday 04/14/2014
Actual Receipts: 5714 Last Monday: 5283 Year Ago Monday: 9478
Compared to last week: Feeder cattle and calves mostly steady,
instance of 1.00 higher on cattle suitable for grass. Demand continues
very good for all classes. Quality plain to average. Oklahoma wheat
crop in jeopardy as a strong cold front is expected to bring a hard
freeze to some of Western Oklahoma's prime wheat country. Storms
came thru Sunday with most moisture falling east of I-35. The only
moisture that fell in western Oklahoma came in the way of snow with
just a dusting in the northwestern quadrant and flurries elsewhere.
Receipts this week totaled 76 percent over 600 lbs and 47 percent
heifers.
