Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 08/24/2015
Actual Receipts: 7,637 Last Monday: 6,044 Year Ago Monday: 5,025
Compared to last week: Feeder steers 3.00-8.00 lower, except few 600-
700 lbs 10.00-15.00 lower. Feeder heifers and steer calves 10.00-15.00 lower.
Heifer calves 15.00-30.00 lower. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle,
moderate for calves. The Dow took on another day of massive losses to close
down 588 points and this once again has spilled over into the cattle complex.
Cattle futures ended the day well into the red and this limited demand for
cattle. The Dow has lost almost 1,675 points since last Monday. Cooler
temperatures and lots of bawling calves is making it feel like fall already.
Supply included several calves including several bull calves as well.
Supply included 67 percent over 600 lbs and 38 percent heifers.
