Receipts: 69 Last Week: 178 Last Year: 700
Compared to last week: Feeder steers traded mostly 5.00 higher on limited
comparable sales. No feeder heifers reported. Abnormally warm temperatures and
dry conditions have been reported for the week. According to USDA-NASS, only 19
percent of the corn has been harvested so far, compared to 30 percent last year
and 45 percent on the 5 year average. Demand is moderate to good on moderate
trading activity. All sales FOB North and South Dakota with a 2-3 percent
shrink or equivalent and a 4-8 cent slide on yearlings and a 8-12 slide on
calves from base weights.
