INTERCOURSE, Pa. — Hoober Inc., a fa rm equipment dealer with locations in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, has joined the Lanco Manufacturing dealership network and will represent the company’s complete line of lime, litter and fertilizer spreaders.

“We’re really happy about adding Lanco spreaders to the equipment we offer our customers,” said Chuck Hoober of Hoober, Inc.

“From the quality of the design and construction to delivering a superior lime and litter spread pattern, Lanco spreaders appeal to farmers in our region,” Hoober said. “In fact, a number of our customers have told us they thought we should add them to our equipment lineup.”

Founded in 2000 by Sam Stoltzfoos, Lanco is based in Bird-in-Hand, Pa., and distributes products throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The fact that Lanco and Hoober are already familiar with each other and are so close to one another will be beneficial, according to Wayne Altland, Lanco sales manager.

“We’ve known Hoober Inc. for a long time and we know their reputation for having quality products, excellent service and outstanding employees,” Altland said.

“We have used some of their expertise in equipping our spreaders with variable rate controls and precision spreading,” he said. “The closeness of Hoober headquarters and our production facility will allow us to interact quickly as we work together.”

Another important factor for Lanco was the location of Hoober stores in the Mid-Atlantic region.

“Hoober’s presence in Pennsylvania, the Delmarva peninsula and eastern Virginia make this a perfect marriage because those are areas with a lot of heavy users of litter spreaders,” Altland said.
