EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The Breeders Crown, harness racing's $5 million season-ending championship which runs this year on Saturday in Wilkes Barre, Pa., will return to the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey in 2014.

Meadowlands chairman Jeff Gural announced the selection Oct. 17. The 30th Breeders Crown will cap the first full season at the new Meadowlands grandstand that opens Nov. 23.

The 12 races will be contested in November 2014, on a date to be determined. The Meadowlands last hosted the Breeders Crown in 2009.

"We would like to thank the horsemen of New Jersey, who have shown unwavering support for our racetrack, for making this commitment to showcase the best Standardbreds in the world," Gural said.

The Breeders Crowns have been instrumental in determining divisional champions since 1984.
