Annual Honeybee Loss Survey Under Way

The Bee Informed Partnership — — are conducting the annual honeybee survey again this year.

This online national survey is conducted each year to quantify the honeybee colony losses suffered by U.S. beekeepers over the winter. This continues past survey efforts of the Apiary Inspectors of America and USDA’s Agricultural Research Service Beltsville Bee Lab, which began in 2007.

This year, the partnership is not only trying to get the news out to the larger beekeepers in hopes of a much higher response from them, but is also inviting all beekeepers to join in.

The more beekeepers who take the survey, the better and more accurate the data will be. To sign up, visit by April 15.
