MILLHEIM, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) will hold a field day on portable fencing for rotational livestock grazing 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Misty Knoll Farm in Royersford, Pa.
Portable Fencing: The Key to Rotational Grazing for Soil & Animal Health, will look at the practical and technical aspects of fencing.
Participants will gain a better understanding of peripherals such as electric netting, Smart Fence, and posts and wire, along with maintenance, troubleshooting and voltage/amperage detectors. We will demonstrate and practice setting up and moving different kinds of portable fences.
Presenters will include Roy Martin of LB Fencing, Fabian Smith of On Green Pastures and Susan Pengelly of Misty Knoll Farm.
The workshop is funded in part by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region III. Cost, which includes lunch, is $25 for PASA members and $35 for others.
