UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Because of the success of its earlier “Tools for Teams” hands-on workshops, Penn State’s Extension Dairy Team is offering an additional workshop 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, at the Berks County Ag Center, 1238 County Welfare Road, Suite 110, Leesport.
The workshop will highlight the use of PA Dairy Tool, Income Over Feed Cost Tool, Cash Flow Planning Tool, Dairy Analysis Tools and Monthly Monitor Tool to help teams improve success.
“No matter the size or management style of your dairy, the Tools for Teams workshop can provide the tools needed to improve the overall management on your farm, leading to greater profitability,” said Mathew Haan, Extension dairy educator from Berks County.
Participants can try out tools on their own following the workshop, then access follow-up webinars and conference calls with instructors to ask questions and get more detailed information for their use.
Instructors will be Lisa Holden, associate professor in Penn State’s Department of Animal Science; Rob Goodling, Penn State Extension associate; Virginia Ishler, Penn State Extension specialist; and Rebecca White, Penn State dairy Extension program manager.
Cost is $35, but scholarships are available for those willing to share data with instructors. Participants may bring a second person from their business at no additional charge. Pre-registration is required.
For more information, contact Holden at 888-373-7232 or lholden<\@>psu.edu. Registration may be made at 888-373-7232.
