New Holland Vegetable Day Set for Jan. 21

NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — Penn State Cooperative Extension and the Elanco School District will co-sponsor the 2012 New Holland Vegetable Day 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21 at Yoder’s Restaurant in New Holland.

The meeting will feature presentations on vegetable disease control, marketing, garlic production, downy mildew on bedding plants, fertigation, tree fruit IPM, pollinators of cucurbits, blueberry establishment, troublesome weeds in small fruit, managing fungicide resistance and seed treatment using a hot water bath.

Cost is $15 for members of the Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association or $20 for nonmembers, which includes lunch.

Pesticide license update credits will be offered. Additional information can be obtained by calling 717-394-6851.
