The Pennsylvania Shepherd’s Symposium will be held 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Samuel E. Hayes Jr. Pennsylvania Livestock Evaluation Center, Pennsylvania Furnace.

The featured speaker will be Don Van Nostran, a former ag educator and general manager of Mid-States Wool Growers who now has his own business marketing lamb carcasses wholesale to the Kroger company.

His presentation will emphasize marketing as the way to improve total income from a sheep operation.

The day will include a lamb luncheon and an evening reception, concluding with the PA Sheep & Wool Growers’ annual meeting.

Cost is $40 per adult and $17 per child. For more information and to register, contact Laurie Hubbard at 570-864-6027 or psushepherd<\@>
