Small-Scale Poultry Production Course Set for Feb. 25

Penn State Extension’s Start Farming program will hold a workshop for folks who are raising or thinking about raising poultry for income 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Berks County Ag Center in Leesport.

The workshop will cover topics such as breed identification, brooding and growing, meat and egg production, and nutrition and health.

The course will be led by Extension personnel as well as experienced poultry producers and industry experts.

Cost is $65, but thanks to funding provided by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Agriculture Partnership, applicants can receive a reduced cost of $22.75, which includes lunch, if they provide their social security number and complete a post-course evaluation form.
