8/17/2013 7:00 AM

Penn State Extension, in cooperation with USDA-FSA, will hold a grazing and pasture management meeting 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the Ted and Tracey Barbour family farm, 994 Paulhamus Hill Road, Cogan Station, Pa.

The Barbours have a cow/calf herd and retain calves for grass finish at 18-20 months using high density grazing management. They graze owned land as well as land enrolled in the CREP program on neighboring farms.

Michael Sherman, executive director of the Lycoming County USDA Farm Service Agency, will discuss requirements for adding routine grazing provisions to existing CREP contracts.

There is no fee to attend, but contact Dave Hartman at Penn State Extension at 800-851-9710 or dwh2<\@> to register for the meeting.
