SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Federal authorities say a Northern California company is recalling 1,650 pounds of fresh and frozen calzones that contain egg but don't say so on the label.
The US Department of Agriculture said Friday that the calzones from Galant Food Company in San Leandro are made with an egg wash glaze.
Egg is a known allergen.
ENZO'S Italian Combo Calzones and ENZO'S Chicken Fajita Calzones were produced between July 16 and Sept. 4 and shipped to distributors, retail locations and possibly restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area.
The USDA says the problem occurred because the wrong computer was connected to the label printer.
