MADISON, Ind. (AP) — A southern Indiana chapter of the FFA is raising produce, turkeys and hogs to combat local hunger.

The Southwestern Jefferson County High School FFA was one of 122 FFA chapters across the country to receive a Food For All grant.

The Southwestern FFA used the grant to plant and raise food for local food pantries. The project called Golden Harvest involves raising three hogs, 20 turkeys, sweet corn, green beans and potatoes. The group plans to use the food for the three monthly meals and then for a Thanksgiving meal.
