LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Las Vegas convention consultant Clifford "Rip" Rippetoe has been chosen as the new president and CEO of the Kentucky State Fair Board.
The board chose the 52-year-old Rippetoe unanimously Friday to replace Harold Workman, whose retirement is effective at the end of the year. Workman has been president and CEO since 1993.
Rippetoe also was executive director and CEO of visitor information services for Utah for the 2002 Olympic Games. The board says he raised money, coordinated 800 volunteers, managed guest accommodations and worked with corporate sponsors.
