JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Billy Orr was executive director of the Mississippi State Fairgrounds from 1978 until his retirement in 1999.

He came back in 2009, replacing Mike Brinkley who resigned May 1 of that year.

Now, Orr has retired again but only from his fairgrounds duties.

The Mississippi Fair Commission Board and Agriculture Commissioner Cindy Hyde-Smith have chosen Rick Reno to succeed Orr as executive director of the Mississippi Fair Commission.

Officials say Orr will work with Reno in the transition. Orr will remain on staff as the public relations director for the Fair Commission.

Reno is currently executive director of VenuWorks in Dodge City, Kansas.

Reno, a Louisiana native, has more than 40 years in facilities management and is a certified facilities executive recognized by the International Association of Venue Managers.
