SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The condition of South Dakotas' winter wheat crop and livestock herds hasn't changed much over the month.
The federal Agriculture Department says in its monthly crop report that 63 percent of the winter wheat crop is in good to excellent shape, up slightly from 60 percent last month.
Cattle and calf conditions are rated 74 percent good to excellent, compared with 77 percent last month. Sheep and lamb conditions are 78 percent good to excellent, up from 76 percent last month.
Stockwater supplies in South Dakota are rated 89 percent adequate to surplus, and hay and forage supplies are 95 percent in those categories. Both are unchanged over the month.
