Tanana Valley State Fair to get paved pathways

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — The Tanana Valley State Fair has a new general manager and her first task will be to oversee the paving of the fairgrounds.

Jill Falldin, who took over the job March 14, told the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://is.gd/LI4ZQz ) that a contractor will break ground this spring and the work should be completed before the fair starts Aug. 2.

The fair association received a $750,000 grant from the Americans with Disabilities Act to do the job.

Falldin said fairgoers will like the paved pathways because they will no longer get muddy when it rains.
