Md. Dairy Princess Diary

Since being crowned Maryland Dairy Princess in July, I have been very busy.  I have been going to county fairs as well as dairy events and still have more to come before the summer is over.

I have enjoyed going to shows and seeing the high quality of cattle from Maryland breeders and the hard work and dedication the exhibitors put into their animals.

Fair season is not over. We all know how busy this time of year is. However, getting your 3-every-day of dairy is important. This recipe is quick and simple and perfect for boosting your energy on busy fair days.

 Yogurt-Fruit Smoothie

 2 cups fat-free milk

1 8-ounce container vanilla low-fat yogurt

½ cup thawed pineapple-orange juice concentrate

2 cups frozen strawberries

1 banana, coarsely chopped

Process all ingredients in a blender until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides. Serve immediately. This makes 5 cups (serving size is 1 cup).

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer!
