Dairymen’s Club Milk
Bottle to be Auctioned
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The Penn State Dairymen’s Club announced that a sold-out, original first edition Penn State Dairymen’s Club milk bottle will be included in the silent auction during the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Pennsylvania Holstein Association.
The auction begins at 3 p.m. on Nov. 8, and concludes at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Penn Stater Conference Center, State College, Pa.
No longer available for public or private sale, the first-edition milk bottle bears an image of a barn and silo amidst green grass, with the words “Penn State Dairymen’s Club” at the top of the banner.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Pennsylvania Holstein Association scholarship and the Penn State Dairymen’s Club.
Since 2000, the Penn State Dairymen’s Club has released a new bottle each year. Milk bottle sales benefit the Penn State Dairymen’s Club Scholarship Endowment Fund. The endowment will be used to create a scholarship for Penn State freshmen studying dairy science. The theme for this year’s bottle will be revealed in November.
The Penn State Dairymen’s Club was founded in 1977 and is comprised of Penn State alumni and friends who support the College of Agricultural Science’s dairy programs. Membership is open to any alumni, faculty or friends of Penn State who wish to support and encourage the dairy industry in Pennsylvania through the programs offered at the university.
