PDCA to Host Judging School at Pa. Farm Show

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Purebred Dairy Cattle Association will be holding its annual Judging School in 2014.

Participants will have the opportunity to judge many breeds of cattle during the school. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with classes starting at 9 a.m. on Jan. 11. The school will be held in the Large Arena at the Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg, Pa.

Participants who place well at the Judging School will have the chance to get their name on the PDCA-approved judges list. The list is sent to county Extension offices and is available to local fairboards for use in locating judges for their shows.

The school official will be Mary Creek of Hagerstown, Md. Creek has extensive judging experience at the local, state and international levels during her judging career.

To participate, preregistration is not required, but there is a $20 fee.
