BELLEFONTE, Pa. — The upcoming Pa. Dairy Summit, Feb. 12-13, at the Penn Stater in State College, Pa., will feature new tracks for visitors to attend. The new tracks are as follows.
<\!q>Forage Management Track: More focus on the crops and forage side of the business with breakouts focused on forage-related issues, and a special Forage Analysis Competition that any Pennsylvania dairy producer or crop grower can enter.
<\!s>Young Entrepreneurs Track: The key to a sustainable dairy industry is engaging and inspiring that next generation of dairy farm owners and managers to prepare themselves to move our dairy farm businesses forward. Breakouts will focus on issues pertinent to those young entrepreneurs and youth considering dairy careers. A special Young Entrepreneur Reception will be held the evening of Feb. 11.
High Performance Track: Like a good race car or a great racing horse, a dairy cow takes extreme care and special treatment to operate at her best. This track will address management strategies, new technologies and analyzing tools available to help your dairy herd perform at the highest level.
<\!q>Technology and Innovation Track: Is your smart phone your favorite tool on the dairy? Learning how to use that device more effectively is just part of this track that addresses the latest innovations and ideas that can advance your dairy operation.
