Champions Named at 2014 National Junior Angus Show

More than 700 Angus juniors and their families traveled to Indianapolis, Ind., to compete in the 2014 National Junior Angus Show on July 6-12 at the Indiana State Fair Grounds.

Garrett Gardner of Cherry Tree, Pa., earned grand champion steer honors with Buchanan’s Friday R269. He is the February 2013 son of PVF ALL PAYDAY 729.

Matthew Mitchell of Reinholds, Pa., led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull. Cherry Knoll Total Product is an October 2013 son of Connealy Final Product and was first named calf champion.

Brody Fitzgerald, West Grove, Pa., earned reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer with Cherry Knoll Gunner 1338. He is an April 2013 son of Exar Lutton 1831.

Lauren Grimes of Hillsboro, Ohio, captured reserve grand champion bred-and-owned cow-calf pair with Maplecrest Rita 2026. The January 2012 daughter of Connealy Confidence 0100 had a February 2014 son of G A R Progress. They first won reserve champion 2-year-old pair.
