Its first place awards were in the categories of Best Use of Technology, Best Interaction With Readers and Best Overall Use of Social Media. Its second place award was for Best Multimedia.

There were 10 categories altogether. Other first place awards went to the websites of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The (Carlisle) Sentinel, Akron (Ohio) Beacon Journal, Philadelphia Neighborhoods and The (Wilkes-Barre) Times-Leader.

Also placing second or third in the contest were the websites of the Erie Times-News, York Daily Record Sunday News, (Washington, Pa.) Observer-Reporter, The York Dispatch and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

This is the second year in a row that has won first place awards in the contest.
