Slaughter Cattle Mid-Session and Close for 04/14/2014
Receipts: 350
Compared to last week, slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower with
slaughter bulls trading mostly steady. Slaughter steers and heifers were not
tested. A modest test of bred cows and pairs were not as active as the last
Special. A springtime snow early Monday curtailed buyer attendance.

Bred Cows: Medium and Large 1-2 few small pkgs 3-7 year old 1000-1200 lb avg
quality mostly black fall calving cows 1650.00-1875.00; few similar pkgs 7 years
to short and solid mouthed 1000-1300 lbs 1300.00-1650.00 per head.
Cow/Calf Pairs: Medium and Large 1 pkg top quality black 1000-1050 lb first
calf heifers w/100-150 lb calves 3000.00. Medium and Large 1-2 few pkgs 3-5
year old 900-1000 lb average quality black cow (some thin) w/newborn to 100 lb
calves 2000.00-2400.00; few pkgs similar short and solid mouth to aged 1000-1350
lb cows w/newborn to 100 lb calves 1600.00-1650.00 per pair.
Replacement Bulls: Several 1-2 year old Sim and/or Angus bulls 2000.00-
2525.00 per head.
