Maryland Snags Top Stockman Title at 2013 KILE

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Aislinn Latham of Thurmont, Md., was named Keystone Junior Stockman of the Year, while her Maryland 4-H team took top group honors at the 36th Keystone Stockman’s Contest on Oct. 4 during the Keystone International Livestock Exposition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.

Latham joined teammates Andrew Bauer, Aaron Luntz and Caitlin Olejnik.

More than 100 teams, including 373 individuals from Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia competed in 12 classes related to livestock, forage and meat judging, quality assurance and equipment identification, and management assessment.

The top five contestants with the highest individual scores were interviewed about current events in the livestock industry.
