The 2021 Pennsylvania Farm Show kicked off today with a slew of virtual events.

Throughout the week, the Farm Show will be hosting virtual farm tours. Today’s tour featured Blue Dog Farms in New Freedom, Pennsylvania.

Dan and Giana Van Nice started Blue Dog Farms in 2010, and raise grass fed and grass finished beef, goats, pigs, chickens and turkeys.

During the virtual tour, Giana Van Nice, a Navy veteran, explained how she and her husband, along with the help of their four kids, rotate the cattle daily.

With daily moving of fencing, the family can get in 8 to 11 miles of walking every day.

The tour was filmed in mid-November, and along with featuring the cows and goats, it also featured the flock of turkeys that was raised for Thanksgiving, as well as the guard goose that protects the turkeys.
