Ingredients and Directions
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup celery
- Onion as desired
- 8 cups bread cubes
- 2 cups chicken, cooked and diced
- 1 cup water or broth
Mix and put in 9x13-inch pan. Beat:
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
Pour over chicken-bread mixture. Bake at 350 F for 35 minutes. Sprinkle with 1 cup shredded cheese and bake 10 minutes longer.
I sometimes put a layer of partially cooked green beans in the bottom for a full main course.
