Ingredients and Directions

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups oatmeal

Mix all together and press into a 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle: 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips over crust while still hot.

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 8 tablespoons milk

Stir to glaze consistency. Pour over chocolate chips. Swirl slightly with a knife. Cut into bars while still warm.

Note: The glaze will be a thick layer.

Often Rosalyn makes a double portion of the crust. Then the glaze is the perfect thickness. These bars have been a family favorite for many years, especially right out of the freezer and with a cup of cold fresh milk. Thank you to dairy farmers for all the hard work and long, tiring days you spend to provide the nation with a healthy, delicious product.
