A one-day educational opportunity for cattle producers will feature speakers addressing genomics, cow nutrition, livestock handling and digital media.

The field day will be held Saturday, July 25, at the farm of Greg and Peg McKean, 193 E. Zahniser Road, Mercer, Pennsylvania.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

Kelli Retallick of Angus Genetics Inc. and Dr. Ron Gill, associate department head and program leader for animal science at Texas A&M’s AgriLife Extension Service, will headline the presentations.

Kaitlyn Swope, director of consumer affairs at the Pennsylvania Beef Council, and Dr. Tara Felix, Penn State Extension beef cattle specialist, will also speak.

At 3 p.m., the Pennsylvania Cattlemen’s Association will hold its postponed annual meeting with award presentations and the election of new directors. The new board will meet after the field day to reorganize for 2020-2021.

The day includes a free lunch sponsored by the Pennsylvania Beef Producers Working Group.
