Lancaster Farming’s own Eric Hurlock is about to embark on a cross-country tour of hemp farms and businesses to tell stories about America’s most promising new crop.

Hurlock’s six-week road trip will begin June 28 at the headquarters of New Holland Agriculture in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and will make stops in 15 states across the South, Great Plains, Mountain West and Midwest.

The tour will document the rebirth of the hemp industry by telling the stories of the people who are making it happen.

Hurlock, the host of Lancaster Farming’s Industrial Hemp Podcast, will interview and engage with hemp farmers, entrepreneurs and visionaries who are developing new products, building local supply chains, and exploring the crop’s environmental benefits.

He will present his experiences through videos, podcasts, print and digital articles, and social media posts.

The Lancaster Farming Industrial Hemp Podcast has attracted listeners from around the world and was named a finalist in the Best Use of Audio category for the 2021 Global Media Awards presented by the International News Media Association.

Hurlock’s weekly updates from the road will appear in Lancaster Farming’s print editions beginning July 3. You can also follow the adventure as it unfolds at lancasterfarming.com/hemptour.
