1935 John Deere Model D Standard

1935 John Deere Model D Standard. Keystone Truck & Tractor Museum, Colonial Heights, Va. The D had the longest run of any model John Deere tractor. The styled and unstyled versions ran from March 1, 1923, until July 3, 1953.

The unstyled Model D was a bare-bones, bare-knuckled, no nonsense simple workhorse that tested the mettle of any operator who spent hour after hour and day after day on its pitching, rolling, Spartan deck.

The Model D has the distinction of having the largest cubic-inch displacement of any two-cylinder John Deere tractor, at 501 cubic inches. That engine was used from late 1927 through the end of production.
