1951 John Deere Model GW

1951 John Deere Model GW. Keystone Truck & Tractor Museum, Colonial Heights, Va. By the 1947 model year, Deere saw enough limited demand for wide-front versions of the G to merit the introduction of the model GW. This model was nearly identical to the basic G with the exception of the wide front end. From 1942 to 1947 the G was produced as the John Deere Model GM (G Modernized). The GM designation was created to receive government approval for a war-time price increase. After 1947, the name reverted back to the Model G.
