ALFALFA: 8 loads, 17.43 tons. ALFALFA/GRASS: 11 loads, 40.82 tons. GRASS: 22 loads, 96.97 tons. STRAW/FODDER: 7 loads, 29.80 tons. BALEAGE: 6 loads.
Compared to last week, Hay sold steady to 30.00 higher. Straw sold firm. Demand was good. Overall quality was good. Farmers continue to clean out the remainder of 2018's hay crop. We are still several weeks off from the 1st cutting of 2019 hay, which has spurred demand for the limited quantities of 2018 hay. All prices are considered FOB, although a 10 mile local delivery is typically provided. Prices reflect various size loads of hay. Prices are per ton.
