Other Notes

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has issued an emergency order prohibiting electric, natural gas, water, wastewater, telecommunication and steam utility terminations. The moratorium will remain in place for as long as the disaster declaration issued by Gov. Tom Wolf on March 6 related to the coronavirus is in effect.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued a national emergency declaration to provide hours-of-service regulatory relief for commercial motor vehicle operations providing direct assistance supporting emergency relief efforts, including delivering food for emergency restocking of stores.

According to USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, farmers in New York had planted, as of May 10, 29% of their barley (23% in 2019), 8% corn (less than 5% in 2019), 36% oats (26% in 2019), 17% onions (16% in 2019), and no soybeans (the same in 2019). Read more
