Biden barn in Ephrata Township, Lancaster County, Pa.

Morning sun sets the foliage ablaze around a barn painted as a campaign sign for President-elect Joe Biden in Ephrata Township, Pa.

When Biden campaign staff heard of owner Mark Branle’s plans to paint his barn, they offered to paint it themselves. The barn was included in a Biden TV ad, and Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, visited the day before Election Day.

Last weekend, Pennsylvania put Biden over the threshold of 270 electoral votes he needed to win the presidency, though the barn’s picturesque setting hardly seems to evoke the hurly-burly of the recent campaign season.
