CENTRE HALL, Pa. — Alpacas and alpaca enthusiasts, as well as fiber art fans, will gather in Centre Hall for the Pennsylvania Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association Breeders Showcase March 21-22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, in the Equine Arena at the Grange Fairgrounds.

Hundreds of breeders will be there with their alpacas.

Alpacas will be featured in the show ring competition, comprised of classes judging conformation and fleece quality in many categories for both Suri and Huacaya alpacas.

Throughout the weekend, artisans will showcase alpaca fiber and examples of felting, fiber arts and more. Dozens of vendors and farm displays will sell the latest alpaca fashions and hand-crafted items.

This year also marks the association’s 20th anniversary. In two decades, the organization has grown from four Pennsylvania alpaca owners to nearly 100.

A slew of fun youth games are planned for the occasion, and this year’s alpaca princess, or prince, will be crowned Saturday night.
