LANCASTER, Pa. — Penn State Extension Lancaster County will hold a hay production workshop on Dec. 16.
The event will be held from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at 1383 Arcadia Road. The registration deadline is Dec. 12.
Topics to be covered include: forage quality, soil fertility management, managing mixed stands, baleage, forage weed control, minimizing dm loss after cutting, tips for reducing hay drying time, preservatives, what does it cost to make dry hay and marketing your hay.
Speakers include: Dr. Marvin Hall, Penn State forage specialist; and Andrew Frankenfield, Dwane Miller and Jeff Graybill, local Penn State county agricultural educators.
